At the Know Your Rights Camp in Oakland, Brandan “BMike” Odoms led a transformative Art and Activism Workshop that blended creativity with purpose. Standing in a space where Dr. Angela Davis, Colin Kaepernick, and Nessa shared the stage, Odoms reflected on the power of legacy and the responsibility to carry it forward. He spoke with deep admiration for Dr. Davis, recognizing how her lifetime of organizing continues to ignite imagination and courage in younger generations. In a city rich with movement history, the message resonated deeply: when young people are given space to imagine freely, they begin shaping futures that once felt impossible. Art becomes more than paint on a canvas, it becomes power.
