The primary goal of the Know Your Rights Camp is to champion the freedom and welfare of Black and Brown communities. This is achieved through educational initiatives, promoting self-empowerment, mobilizing the masses, and establishing innovative systems that nurture the upcoming generation of transformative leaders.
From camps informing the youth on their liberties and responsibilities to an Autopsy Initiative that has given away over 90 free-of-charge third-party-autopsies for families of individuals who have died while in police custody, KYRC has always believed in doing everything we can as an organization in our fight against systemic oppression. That fight also extends to the political process.
Elections matter on both local, state and national levels. Though KYRC won’t tell you who or what to vote for, we feel it’s important for you to know various action items that are aligned with our 10 Points. This includes laws and candidates that can potentially affect the justice system and modern policing. Throughout the election year, we will do everything in our power to inform you on issues that matter the most to KYRC.
